❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How is fuel cost for a trip calculated?›
Fuel cost = (total distance ÷ mileage) × fuel price. The first part gives the litres needed, then you multiply by the per-litre price. For 300 km at 18 km/l with petrol at ₹100/l: 300 ÷ 18 = 16.7 litres × ₹100 = ₹1,667.
Where do I find my car or bike's mileage?›
Your real-world mileage (kmpl) is the most accurate input. Track it by filling the tank, noting the odometer, then dividing the kilometres driven by the litres of your next full fill. City mileage is usually lower than highway. If unsure, use the manufacturer's ARAI figure as a rough estimate and reduce it by 15–20% for city driving.
Does this work for diesel and CNG?›
Yes for diesel — just enter the diesel price per litre and your diesel mileage. For CNG, enter the price per kg and your kmpl-equivalent (km per kg), since CNG is sold by weight; the maths is identical. For EVs, calculate cost per km from your electricity tariff instead.
How do I split fuel cost for a road trip?›
Set the 'Split among' slider to the number of people sharing the cost. The tool divides the total fuel cost equally and shows the per-person share — handy for carpools and group trips. Toll and parking are extra; add those separately.
Why use round trip?›
If you're driving to a destination and back, switch to 'Round trip' so the distance is doubled automatically. This avoids the common mistake of budgeting for only half the journey.
