What We Collect
We collect very minimal data to understand how the site is used and improve it:
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to count visitors and see which tools are popular. This collects anonymous data — pages visited, country, browser type, device type. No personal information.
- Download counts: When a tool finishes and you download the result, we count it — only the tool's name and the file type (for example "passport-photo-grid, jpg"). Never the file, its name or anything inside it.
- Google Search Console: We use this to understand how people find ToolNinja on Google. Shows us search queries in aggregate — not linked to individuals.
If you choose to post a comment (see below), we store what you type. That is it. Nothing else.
Comments (optional)
Tool pages have a public "Questions & problems" box. If you post, we store the name and comment you type so others can read them. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person, not a bot. Please do not post Aadhaar, PAN, phone numbers or other personal details. Want a comment removed? Email hello@toolninja.in.
Your Files — Always Private
When you use tools like Image Compressor, PDF Merger, Resume Builder or any other tool:
- Your files are processed entirely inside your browser using JavaScript
- No file is uploaded to our servers — we do not have file storage
- Your documents, photos, invoices and PDFs never leave your device
- When you close the browser tab, everything is gone — we store nothing
"0 bytes uploaded" — how we check
Tools that take a photo or a PDF, and the exam kits, say 0 bytes uploaded. We don't just say it, we test it:
- We run each of these tools with real phone photos and PDFs and record every network request the page makes while it works. After you choose a file, the page sends nothing — not one byte of your file goes anywhere.
- The site's security settings (its Content Security Policy) only let a page connect to toolninja.in itself, Google Analytics and Cloudflare. The tools send your files to none of them.
- Like every page here, tool pages count visits and downloads (see "What We Collect" above) — never the file, its name or anything inside it.
The check is part of our tests. A tool that ever fails it loses the badge.
Local Storage
Some tools use your browser's localStorage to improve your experience:
- Recently Used Tools: The homepage shows the tools you used last. Stored only on your device.
- Pinned Tools: Tools you pin come first on the homepage and in search. Stored only on your device.
- Theme: If you switch between dark and light mode, your choice is saved locally.
You can clear this any time by clearing your browser's site data or using Incognito mode.
Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies to count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. Its advertising features — Google Signals and ad personalisation — are switched off on this site, so your visits are not used for ad targeting. You can block analytics with a browser extension such as uBlock Origin; every tool still works.
Donations
If you donate via UPI, the payment is processed through your UPI app. We do not collect or store any payment information.
Third Party Services

Children's Privacy
ToolNinja is a general-purpose tool website. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.
