How do I make a photo smaller than 50 KB?
Choose the photo. The tool first lowers JPEG quality; if the quality would drop below about 50%, it reduces the pixel size a little instead, so the photo stays clear. The result is always under 50 KB unless the photo cannot get that small.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, and the page works offline once loaded.
Which KB does the tool use?
It keeps the file under 50×1000 bytes, which is slightly stricter than 50×1024. That way the file passes whichever way a portal counts a KB.
My form also needs exact pixel size (e.g. 200×230)
Resize the pixels first with the image resizer or the govt photo resizer, then bring the photo here if it is still too big.
