When a form wants both in one image

Some recruitment, admission and bank forms ask for one image showing your photo and your signature together, instead of two separate uploads. Read the form’s instructions: “photo with signature” or “single image of photo and signature” means this page; “upload photo and signature separately” means the passport photo maker and the signature resizer.

  • Use a recent, front-facing photo against a plain light background.
  • Sign with a dark pen on plain white paper; take the photo from above in good light.
  • Type the pixel size and KB limits from your form; the page shows the size of the file it makes.

Questions people ask

Which forms need combined photo and signature?
Forms that ask for “photo with signature” or a “single image of photo and signature” in one upload — some recruitment, admission and bank forms. If your form asks for the photo and the signature as separate files, upload them separately instead. Always follow your form’s instructions.
What file size and format are the outputs?
A JPG of exactly the width and height you type (in pixels, or in cm at the DPI you choose), with that DPI written in the file. Type “Keep under — KB” and the page lowers the JPEG quality until the file fits; “At least — KB” makes it bigger without changing the picture.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The photo, the signature and the combined image are made in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
What if my photo and signature are from different dates?
That is normal — they are combined into one image here. If your form asks for a recent photo or for the date the photo was taken, follow that rule; for a name and date on the photo use Photo Name & Date.
My signature photo has a grey background or a shadow.
Leave “Clean the paper” on: the paper is turned white and only the ink is kept. You can also make the ink plain blue or black.
