Rent receipt kab chahiye?
Agar aap company se HRA (House Rent Allowance) lete hain aur tax exemption claim karna chahte hain — rent receipts mandatory hain. Annual rent ₹1 lakh se zyada ho to landlord ka PAN number bhi company ko dena padta hai.
HRA exemption — kya milta hai
HRA exemption in teen mein se minimum amount milti hai:
- Actual HRA received
- Actual rent paid minus 10% of basic salary
- Metro cities: 50% of basic | Non-metro: 40% of basic
Important rules
Agar annual rent ₹1 lakh se zyada hai — landlord ka PAN mandatory hai. Rent apne family member (spouse ya parents) ko de rahe hain — kuch conditions apply hoti hain. Fake rent receipts dena tax fraud hai.
Valid rent receipt mein kya hona chahiye
- Tenant aur landlord ka naam aur address
- Property address (jahan rent de rahe hain)
- Amount (words aur figures mein)
- Month ka clearly mention
- Date
- Landlord ka signature
- ₹5,000+ per receipt par revenue stamp (₹1 ka)
Revenue stamp kab zaroori hai?
Cash payment ki receipt par ₹5,000 se zyada amount ke liye ₹1 ka revenue stamp zaroori hai (Indian Stamp Act). Online bank transfer ki receipt par stamp zaroori nahi.
Landlord PAN nahi dena chahta — kya karein?
Agar annual rent ₹1 lakh se zyada hai aur PAN nahi milta — HRA exemption sirf ₹1 lakh tak ki rent tak milegi. Aap Form 60 landlord se bhara sakte hain PAN ke alternative mein.
Kya digital rent receipt valid hai?
Zyada tar companies digital ya printed receipts accept karti hain. Physical signature preferred hai. Email trail + bank transfer records bhi valid proof hain many employers ke liye.
