Where to lodge it, and what next
- Lodge online: epfigms.gov.in → Register Grievance (also in the UMANG app → EPFO). Choose PF Member (or EPS Pensioner) and enter your UAN — EPFiGMS says to pick Others only if you have no UAN, PPO or establishment number. Paste the text above into the grievance description, attach screenshots or documents, and note the registration number you get.
- Time limits: EPFO’s Citizens’ Charter gives 20 days under the Scheme for settling a claim (Form-19, 31, 13, 20, 5IF, 10C, 10D; its own aim is 7 working days, 3 for death claims) and 7 working days for redressing a grievance. Unresolved grievances are escalated to the next higher authority.

Questions people ask
How do I lodge a grievance with EPFO?
Online on epfigms.gov.in → Register Grievance, or in the UMANG app under EPFO. Choose PF Member (or EPS Pensioner), enter your UAN and the OTP, pick the PF account, the category and describe the problem. You get a registration number to track it. This page writes the description for you.
How long does EPFO take to settle a claim?
EPFO’s Citizens’ Charter lists 20 days under the Scheme for PF withdrawal, transfer, pension and death claims, and aims for 7 working days (3 for death claims).
How long does EPFO take to answer a grievance?
The Charter says the general time limit for settling a grievance is 7 working days; if it is not redressed, it is escalated to the next higher authority. You can also send a reminder on EPFiGMS.
My PF claim was rejected — what should I write?
Copy the rejection reason exactly as shown in your claim status, write your answer to it, and ask EPFO to tell you all the deficiencies together so you can fix them in one go. Choose “Claim rejected” above.
What if EPFiGMS does not solve it?
Send a reminder on EPFiGMS, call 1800118005, visit the EPFO office with this letter, or lodge it on CPGRAMS (pgportal.gov.in), which has an appeal facility if you are not satisfied.
Can I write the EPFO grievance in Hindi?
Yes. Choose हिन्दी above the form, and पुरुष or महिला so the verbs are right — both the text for the EPFiGMS box and the letter come out in Hindi.
