When You Need PAN as PDF

PAN card is the single most-requested KYC document in India, and most portals accept only PDF:

PAN PDF Tips

Front is usually enough: Name, PAN number, DOB and photo are all on the front. Add the back only if the portal explicitly asks for both sides or the QR code.
Glare on the card: Newer PAN cards are glossy. Photograph at a slight angle in even light — avoid direct flash washing out the number.
Keep it sharp: The 10-character PAN (like ABCDE1234F) must be clearly readable, or KYC gets rejected.
Mask before public sharing: If you're sending PAN somewhere non-official, mask the number — an exposed PAN can be misused for fraud.
Size limits: If the portal caps file size, compress the finished PDF with our PDF to 200KB tool.

Yes. Everything happens in your browser — your PAN image and the PDF never go to any server. PAN is sensitive (it links to your income-tax records), so local-only processing matters. For sharing, consider masking the number with our Aadhaar/PAN Masking tool first.

Do I need the back of the PAN card?›

Usually the front is enough for KYC. Newer PAN cards have a QR code on the back — include it only if the portal asks for both sides. The back slot is optional.

Can I combine PAN with Aadhaar in one PDF?›
