How to Use This Masking Tool
Upload a photo or scan of your Aadhaar card, PAN card, or any identity document. Use the drawing tools to mask sensitive information — draw a rectangle over the number you want to hide. Choose between Black Box (completely covers), Blur (makes unreadable but visible), or White Box. Click "Download Masked Image" to save the protected version.
What is Aadhaar Masking?
Masked Aadhaar means hiding the first 8 digits of your 12-digit Aadhaar number, showing only the last 4 digits (XXXX-XXXX-1234). UIDAI recommends using masked Aadhaar for non-official sharing. This tool lets you mask any part of any document visually.
Why Should You Mask Your Aadhaar?
Sharing your full Aadhaar number can lead to identity theft. Many landlords, employers, and service providers ask for Aadhaar copies — always share the masked version unless the full number is legally required (like for bank KYC or government services).
Is This Tool Safe?
Yes. Unlike enterprise masking APIs (IDfy, dMACQ) that process your document on their servers, this tool processes everything in your browser using JavaScript Canvas. Your document never touches any server. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet — the tool will still work.
