Why Merge PDF Files?

Merging PDFs is one of the most common document tasks in India. Whether you are a student submitting multiple documents to a college portal, a professional sending a report with multiple attachments, or a job seeker combining your resume, certificates and ID proof — merging PDFs saves time and keeps everything organized.

Common Uses in India

College and University Portals: Most Indian university portals ask for a single PDF containing marksheets, certificates, and ID proof. This tool lets you combine all documents into one file before uploading.

Government Job Applications: SSC, UPSC, Railways, and state government portals often require a single PDF with your application form, photo ID, caste certificate, and qualification documents.

Bank and Loan Applications: Banks ask for a bundle of KYC documents, income proof, and address proof. Submit one clean merged PDF instead of multiple attachments.

Legal Documents: Advocates and clients combine multiple court documents, affidavits, and exhibits into a single file for easy filing and sharing.

Why This Tool is Better Than Others

Privacy: SmallPDF, ILovePDF and similar tools upload your files to their servers in Europe or the US. Your Aadhaar card, salary slip, and personal documents travel over the internet. Our tool processes everything in your browser — nothing leaves your device.

No limits: SmallPDF allows only 2 free merges per day. We have no limits — ever.

No login: No email, no account, no phone number. Open and use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my PDF files uploaded to any server? +
No. This tool uses pdf-lib, a JavaScript library that runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF files are loaded into your device's memory, merged there, and the merged file is given back to you. Nothing is ever transmitted to any server. You can turn off your internet right now and this tool will still work. This is especially important for sensitive documents like Aadhaar cards, salary slips, and bank statements.
Is there a file size limit? +
There is no artificial limit imposed by ToolNinja. The only limit is your device's available RAM memory. On a typical smartphone with 4GB RAM, you can comfortably merge PDFs totalling 100–200MB. On a computer, much larger files work fine. If your browser crashes or becomes slow, try merging fewer files at once.
Can I choose specific pages from each PDF? +
Yes. Click the "Pages" button on any PDF card to set a page range. For example, enter "1-3" to include only pages 1 to 3 from that file, or "2,4,6" for specific pages. Leave it blank to include all pages. This is useful when you have a 20-page document but only need page 1 (the cover page) in the merged file.
How do I change the order of PDFs? +
Drag any file card up or down to reorder it. The number on the right side of each card shows its position in the final merged PDF. The file at position 1 will be first in the merged document, position 2 will be second, and so on.
Will the merged PDF lose quality or formatting? +
No. The merging process simply combines the pages from each PDF into one file without re-rendering or compressing them. The quality, fonts, images, and formatting of each page remain exactly as in the original files. The merged PDF is identical in quality to the original source PDFs.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs? +
Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged directly. You will need to remove the password first. If you know the password, open the PDF in any PDF reader, print it to a new PDF file (without password), then use that file here. We will add a PDF password remover tool in a future update.
