Government departments calculate age as on a specific cutoff date mentioned in the notification — not today's date. Enter your date of birth in the first field and the exam cutoff date in the second field (Age on Date) to get your exact age on that specific date. This is the correct way to check eligibility.

Does age calculation account for leap years?

Yes. The calculation correctly handles February 29 birthdays and all leap year variations. Someone born on February 29 has their birthday counted on February 28 in non-leap years for age calculation purposes, which matches Indian government rules.

Why does my age show differently on different websites?

Some calculators calculate age differently — some count the birthday as already passed on the birthday itself, others count it the next day. This tool uses the standard method — if today is your birthday, you have just turned that age. This matches the method used by most Indian government departments.
