How it counts

  • ₹2 per ₹100 per month (“do rupaye saikda”) means ₹2 interest on every ₹100 each month — the same as 24% a year. Change the unit to “% per year” for bank-style rates.
  • Time from two dates is counted in full months plus days; a day is taken as 1/30 of a month. Lenders sometimes count days differently — check with yours.
  • Compound yearly: after every 12 full months the interest is added to the amount, and the next year’s interest is on the new total; the part after the last full year is simple.
  • This is a calculator for your own hisaab — the agreed terms between you and the lender decide what is owed.

Questions people ask

What does “₹2 saikda” or “do rupaye sekda” mean?
₹2 interest on every ₹100 each month. Over a year that is ₹24 on ₹100, i.e. 24% a year. Type 2 and keep “₹ per ₹100 per month”.
How is the time counted between two dates?
In full months plus the remaining days, with a day taken as 1/30 of a month. For example 15 Jan to 25 Apr is 3 months and 10 days.
What is compound yearly (salana chakravriddhi)?
After every 12 full months the interest is added to the amount, and the next year’s interest is worked out on the new total. The part after the last full year is counted as simple interest.
Is this the interest I legally owe?
It is a calculator for your own hisaab. What is owed depends on the terms agreed between you and the lender.
