How sizes are counted
- Portals count a KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes. To be safe both ways, a file passes a maximum of N KB only if it is at most N × 1000 bytes, and a minimum of M KB only if it is at least M × 1024 bytes.
- The format is read from the file itself, not from its name — a PNG renamed to .jpg is still a PNG.
- Pixels and DPI are read from the JPEG. Where the notice gives a size in cm, it is shown for you to compare; the portal decides.
- The limits come from each exam’s official notice — linked under the exam with the date we checked it. Always read the notice of your exam too.
Kaise use karein
- Exam aur document chunein — photo, signature, PDF.
- Apni file chunein — woh aapke phone par hi padhi jaati hai.
- Dekhein file sahi hai ya nahi, aur galat ho to fix karne ka link.
Dhyan dein
Limits har exam ke official notice se hain — apne exam ka notice bhi zaroor padhein.
Questions people ask
How do I know if my photo is the right size for the exam form?
Choose the exam and the document, then choose your file. The checker reads the format, the exact size in bytes, the pixels and the DPI from the file and compares them with the limits in that exam’s official notice.
Why does the checker say “too big” when my phone shows 50 KB?
Phones and portals count a KB differently — 1000 or 1024 bytes. The checker passes a file only if it fits both ways, so the portal will not reject it for a few bytes.
My file is a PNG renamed to .jpg — is that a problem?
Yes, it can be: many forms check the real format, not the name. The checker reads the format from the file itself and links a converter.
Which exams are covered?
The exams on our exam pages — SSC, IBPS, NTA (NEET, JEE, CUET, UGC-NET), RRB NTPC and UPSC — each with its official notice and the date we checked it. For other forms, read the limits in their notice.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It is read in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
