What goes in a partnership deed

The firm's name, business and address, the partners, their capital and profit shares, how the bank account is run, accounts, retirement, death of a partner and disputes. Profit shares must add up to 100% — the page checks. Edit or add terms in "Other terms". Banks and the GST and income-tax registrations usually ask for a copy of the deed; whether and how to register the firm with your State's Registrar of Firms is for you and your lawyer to check.

How many partners can there be?

At least two. Add as many rows as you need; each needs a name, capital and profit share.

Do profit shares have to be equal?

No — any split, as long as the shares add up to 100%. Capital does not have to match the profit share.

Does it need stamp paper?

Usually, yes; the value depends on the State and sometimes on the capital. Ask the stamp vendor, a notary or a lawyer.
