What a promissory note is

A short written promise by one person (the maker) to pay a fixed amount to another (the payee) — on demand or on a date, with or without interest. People often sign it across a revenue stamp; the box is there if you use one. The amount is written in figures and in words, worked out by the page.

Stamp paper and signing

Whether this needs stamp paper, and of what value, depends on your State and on the document — ask the stamp vendor, a notary or a lawyer. Tick "Printing on stamp paper?" to leave the space at the top of page 1. This is a draft in plain words: for a large amount or anything you may have to rely on in court, have a lawyer read it first.

Kaise use karein

  1. Dene wale aur lene wale ka naam bharein.
  2. Rakam, on demand ya tareekh, aur byaj chunein.
  3. Print karke sign karein (revenue stamp ka box hai).

Pronote

Rakam shabdon mein apne aap likhi jaati hai — sign se pehle jaanch lein.
