Draft only — a lawyer should read it for a large or disputed estate.

Writing a simple will

Say who gets which property, and who gets everything else; name an executor if you like. Sign it in front of two witnesses who sign too — ideally people who get nothing under the will. Keep it safe and tell someone where it is. Registering a will is your choice; ask the sub-registrar's office about it.

For a large estate, a family business, or anything that may be disputed, have a lawyer draft or read the will.

Kaise use karein

  1. Apna naam, pata aur executor (agar chahein) bharein.
  2. Kaunsi property kisko jayegi likhein.
  3. Do gawahon ke saamne sign karein; surakshit rakhein.

Vasiyat

Gawah aise log hon jinhe vasiyat mein kuch nahi mil raha.

Questions people ask

What should a will contain?
Your name and address, a line cancelling earlier wills, who gets each property and who gets the rest, an executor (optional), the date, your signature and two witnesses.
Who can be a witness?
Two adults who see you sign. It is safer if they are not people who receive property under the will.
Does a will need stamp paper?
Plain paper is commonly used for a will; ask a lawyer or the sub-registrar's office for your case.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The will is drafted in your browser and the PDF is created on your device.
